Castle Mountain MInes Museum

Now a ghost town.....Castle Dome was once a bustling industrial town housing 3000 people....

Restored buildings house authentic relics from the town’s past including old mining equipment, furniture and newspaper clippings.

A few open mines...

This area is about 10 miles off the main highway... I've always been attracted to the Castle Mountain.

The last few miles is a narrow gravel road...but the beauty of the desert is worth the drive!

Who would of thought....

We past this park many time in the last 5 years...never thought of stopping in...
 When we did .....who would of thought what was inside....

"Yuma Conservation Garden"...
It's 28 acres of garden featuring native Sonoran Desert plants...

Walking trails...duck pond.... desert tortoises....

 and a whole lot of antique farm machinery...

 

A wonderful place to visit!!
