Desert Wetlands

Hubby and I did our weekly bike ride to Old Town. We have explored the West Wetlands often, but never ventured into the East Wetlands. Today was a cloudy day, so it was the perfect temperature for a longer bike ride so we headed to the East Wetlands....not knowing what to expect....

First we biked along the Colorado River
I always expect the river to be wider and faster than it is!

We were surprised to find that the path was paved. The Wetlands were to the left and the canal on the right.
We biked for about a mile along the East Wetlands...
 It was a beautiful ride...
With lots of places to go back and explore...

A great new find for us....and one more path to bike!!
Its nice to have Wetlands, here in the desert!

Paint Class...

When we came down south, hubby and I were hoping to do some 'artwork'...its a hobby we want to do, but never seem to get around to it!
Friends told us of a paint class...
So we signed up...and started with a clean slate!
Since Hubby and I were painting the same picture...the idea was to 'mirror' the paintings...

Not sure...how 'mirrored' the paintings are...  BUT

One thing for sure.... it was a fun afternoon!!

We may just try it again next month!!

Glendale - Old Town

I needed to pick up some supplies and found they were in Glendale....
Little did I know that this trip would take me to Historic Glendale...

I thought I must of had the wrong address...it seemed we were in an older residential area...
But the shop was in Catlin Court...bungalows that are little shops....
What a wonderful quaint area.... a place to visit and shop!

I found these two Chapels.... in Museums.....
This chapel is The Elvis Memorial Chapel... at Superstition Mountain Museum...
It was used in the film 'Charro'....for more information on this chapel...click here

At the Goldfield Ghost Town there was this Chapel...

Yuma Workspace

I have started another quilt. I don't have my good sewing machine, or much space to work in...
BUT Hubby and I both have enough space to do the hobbies we enjoy doing.
I purchased a  table that is perfect on days that I want to work inside.
The problem is...most days I don't want to be inside...
So I just move on outside where I sew...
And have a little ...but workable cutting table.

Hubby and I share the table..

And he has a little workshop that he can work in!

Makes us wonder...why we ever thought we needed all that space back home:)!

Border Crossings....

Here in Yuma, Mexico is just a short jaunt away...

By the Sand Dunes we pass the Floating Border Fence....
It floats as the sand shifts....

Every once in awhile...we take a trip to Los Algodones...and cross the border for a visit.

The place is fill with Seniors....getting Dental Work,  Eyeglasses and...browsing...
We found the prices are not really a bargain....
I find that any joy I could have of shopping...
there is always someone asking me to have a look....
cheap...cheaper in the morning..... almost free
I'm not the bargaining type...

It takes all my enjoyment of crossing the border away...

And I always find.... the washroom very amusing!

National Puppy Day

Miss Pepper…..she changed our life… But life wouldn’t be as full without her! She is a kind sweet puppy that always ‘try’s😳’ to please.
