Thankful for hubby my best friend...he celebrates his birthday today..we are not together for his birthday...the first time in our 40 years together...but is not the day that counts...every day we are together is what counts.

2013 Thoughts....

It's hard to believe that it has been almost two weeks since we were wishing one another a
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year??...
isn't that what we all wish for 'Happiness'.....
But life happens....I got the news that friends....
lost their son in an accident...
this wasn't the first child that they lost...
it was the 3rd adult child they lost in their life....

Sickness...

Heartbreaks....

start the New Year...

How do we find a 'Happy' New year...

Last year I read the book 1000 Gifts
'A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are"
 by Ann Voskamp

Thankfulness' is the main theme in the book....
Thankfulness for ALL that comes our way...

Thankfulness is something we have to learn.....

May 2013 be a year of learning to be thankful for all that comes....
We may not see God in the things that happen this year...but HE is there!!

"Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. AT first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing He is getting the drains in right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you know that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in  ways that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of..throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards, You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage; but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself."

Thankful # 2

November 8th...my oldest Grandson's birthday. I remember the day he was born so well!! He was born early in the morning. I still remember driving to the hospital. I spent the whole day just holding him! He was my first grandchild...born to my first born!

This year he turned 17.
I always wanted to be home for my grandchildren's birthdays....but as it worked out this year we were south.

Thankfully his family took a little holiday, close to where we were and we were able to celebrate his day with him!
My daughter made yummy subs and we had lunch together.
The men went for a round of golf!
The women visited by the lake and watched the waterplay!
We all went out for supper...
Grandson has his cake complete with 17 candles!

Thankful. . .

This morning I talked to my daughter back home. It's snowing and cold.
I am thankful that this is the kind of Blizzards we'll be having this month!
The ground at home was white today...
I'm thankful we had green grass and blue skies!
