Doors

'A door is a movable structure used to open and close off an entrance, '
some...you may not want to enter..
some may say 'welcome'...but don't look to inviting..
some times...you sense you shouldn't enter...
some may promise you delectable goods...

some are hard to get into..
there are even some you can see straight through...
until you look at it another way!

some are airy...
at times you may see double.
Some are very inviting..

The past 5 months of our lives....has seemed like our life has been a series of doors....
that were opening and closing the direction of our life.

For now....we have entered a new door of our life...
I will post more of this change ....
but one thing we know for sure....

'In his heart a man may plans his course,
but the Lord determines his steps.'
 Proverbs 16:9

(due to lack of time...pictures are unedited:)

Here in Alberta you have enjoy ever nice day you get....
If you wait you could miss summer!
We've enjoyed picnics in the park...
 Evenings at the beach ...
Days at the beach with all sorts of kids...

We've even made it down the river ...
Enjoyed the other families were saw...
And this curious dear who was on an island in the middle of the river.

Have a yummy weekend.... enjoy the sun...

Le Tour de l'Alberta

Well it wasn't France...and it wasn't a race...
just a tour through some northern French - Canadian culture.
The weather was perfect...
You could bike 175 km, 100 km, 50 km or 20 km.
Hubby and I did the 50km
It began in Morinville.
Morinville was settled by Father Morin, an Oblate missionary
who brought with him many French settlers in the late 1800's
There were about 1200 bikers. Approximately 250 did the 50 km tour.
It's always fun and exciting... waiting in the start line!
Our first stop and lunch was in Legal.
There are 28 murals in Legal welcoming visitors to this bilingual town.
I thought it was interesting... In 1894 two gentlemen came from France via California..
searching for homesteads and settled in Legal.
(I wonder if they ever regretted not staying in California...:)

I couldn't resist...taking pictures of barns along the route!
Here's a couple of Northern Alberta barns!

It was a fun day....

Lacrosse

I had never heard of Lacrosse, before my grandson started playing it.
I found out that Lacrosse is Canada's oldest sport as well as our official summer sport!
It's amazing what you learn from grandchildren!
Click here for the History of Lacrosse if you wish.

My grandson has been playing this game for some years now.
I find it a very rough game...with little protective equipment on the players.
They play with a little bouncy ball...that they catch in their net...how?
I have know idea... I could never do it!

My grandson's team made it to the Provincial Playoffs this year!
It was exciting to watch the games...so exciting hubby lost his voice...
and it was a great experience for the players!

National Puppy Day

Miss Pepper…..she changed our life… But life wouldn’t be as full without her! She is a kind sweet puppy that always ‘try’s😳’ to please.
