Bountiful Baskets

I had heard of Bountiful Baskets, 

but this weekend was the first time I participated in the program. 

 It was all new to me!

You can order your basic 'Basket' or speciality fruits and veggies as well as breads...

 

I had ordered the basic basket...

 Once home ... I knew I would have fruit and veggies to last me for awhile.

Everything looked so fresh!!

 I'm sure I will enjoy cooking and eating them..

 I can't wait to see what I'll find in my basket the next time I participate.

I know that I have posted about 'Old Town' Yuma before. My children have always been an important part of my life...and whenever I am away from them I think of sharing the things Hubby and I do with them.

Well since Middler is with me this time..and it is fun to share 'south' living with her!
We biked the canals down to 'Old Town'.

 It was market day on Main Street...

I had to take her to a fun place to eat...Lutes Casino

 Where we shared the most delicious Potato Tacos...
It is mashed potato's deep fried in tacos, covered with cheese and cabbage... you mix it up with some hot sauce....

 And Lutes Special... a hamburger and hot dog combined....
You have to taste it to know how yummy this REALLY is!!!

Middler loves antique stores...so we browsed in the 4 antique shops ...

I never tire of the old buildings in this area...

but is it sad to see how business's are closing in 'Old Town"

The area has wonderful old buildings with such character!

But I think it's a cool tree...

Made it....

When we travel south Hubby always has to wash the car as soon as we arrive in the warm area of the south and we are past any change of snow or slush....
I usually roll my eyes at this habit of his....but once middler and I got close to 'home' I made her be on the lookout for a car wash. I just didn't know if I could park the car with the grim that was on it!
Well she spotted fundraising car wash and thought that would be a great way to get the car washed...

 

While it was being washed..

We visited the Sonic beside the car wash and enjoyed one of there slushes!

Ahhh the warmth of that sun....it feels so good to be in warm country!

 A new day...

Is it...'pink sky in the morning...sailor take warning?'

Have you ever noticed...how quickly the sky changes in the mornings?

We were glad we had stopped in Lake Havasu...

Last time we drove thru... I had noticed there was a Hobby Lobby...

 had to check it out!

And you can bet....we'll be stopping here more often....

If you've never been to Hobby Lobby... you'll have to check one out!!

On the road...

I never tire of the trip south.
We seem to do this trip twice and year...and I love it every time!
Winter...isn't my favourite time to drive...
This trip it was middler and me starting out from Southern Alberta...

We were  blessed with great roads...at times Sunny skies...

 Beautiful scenery...

Hockey Strike is over

But this is the only hockey... I've watched this year!
