Three Sisters Mountain Range

CaI think I've done enough posts on the Canadian Rockies..

Bear with me as I do ONE more . . .

 My earliest memories about these mountains...

were my sisters telling me...that THEY were the Three Sisters....like these mountains,

then I came along...now there were four of us...

so they are no longer the Three Sisters.

 That was MANY MANY years ago....but....it's funny how some things stay in your mind.

To this day I look at these mountains and think about . . .

MY THREE SISTERS!

So really...they still have a claim to these mountains:)

One thing my sisters all have in common is that they all made jointed Teddy Bears. 

I have a bear from each of my sisters, 

My sisters may not realize it...but I TREASURE these three bears. 

And there will always only be Three Bears....as I have No desire to ever make a jointed bear....

Things that make you say AWE or AWH

AWE is an emotion comparable to wonder but less joyous, and more fearful or respectful.

AWH  another form of  'awe' used mostly to discribe something cute or a cute moment.

Sundance Canyon

A few kilometers from Banff is the Sundance Canyon. 

There is a hike about 3 Km around the Canyon.

I can't count the times I have walked, biked and cross-country skied to the base of this Canyon,

 but have never hiked around it.

 Finally we took the time to walk it. 

It was beautiful. . .

The falls on the way up were gorgeous!

We crossed a few bridges...

Then you are in the forest...

The view before you start back down is magnificent!

Yep... 50 minutes that's all it took and it took me over
40 plus years
before I took the time to walk it!

Weekend Getaway...

There is something about mountain air

 and mountain scenery 

that revitalizes you!

This weekend we went out to the mountains.... 

took a walk to the Hoodoo's...

Strange name don't you think??

Strange name for strange looking rocks...

As far as I can find out...
they don't know where the name came from....

Monday Morning

It started out like a normal Monday morning. Hubby was about to start the coffee, when he got a frantic phone call. Our daughter was in town and saw a mouse in her car. So he goes to see if he can rescue (the mouse) our daughter. About a half hour later our car drives in the driveway with daughter driving...hubby is driving her car...they never found the mouse. I was informed that her dad...pulled his socks over his pant legs before he started driving. So hubby sets a trap in the car...and we have a coffee.

About a half hour later...our son-in-law arrives...he opens the car door...he comment is... "So...you'r just waiting for the mouse to jump in the trap"?

Now he gets down to the nitty gritty!

 Everything comes out of the van...

 No its not engine problems...we're looking for a mouse...

Finally they found the mouse house ... but NO Mouse

So much for the peanuts...sorry kids...the mouse got them!

The van's all clean....once last inspection...and NO MOUSE!

Guess what...the trap gets set again...

 Three and a half hours later.... daughter leaves...

without her vehicle...

Once there is a mouse in the trap...

she'll pick up her vehicle...

She left with the son-in-law.... 

(hmmm wonder how many mice FAMILIES are living in that truck)

...don't tell her I even thought that!:)

Sooo how was your Monday Morning:)

A Frosty Morning...

Sunday morning.... the grass was white.....

 The roof's were white..

The FROST came....

The flowers survived!

An Apple a Day. .

We have two apple trees in our backyard that blossomed beautifully this spring. . .

 Here are the results of those blossoms. . . 

This was the first year the trees where large enough to require a ladder for picking. . .

 They taste delicious...

Fun - Run

The day was bright and warm...

6 of us had signed up for the Marathon. . .

And they are off.... 

beautiful scenery to enjoy as you run

 Three ran 10 km...

Three ran 5 KM

 The bottomline was it was fun . . .
 Some conquered their first 10 KM...
 Some ran their best 5 KM...

What fun running with your grandkids...

who you can't even begin to keep up with!

Gotta love that mountain air...

This weekend we travelled beside the Trans Canada Highway -

'The Banff Legacy Trail'

Three of our grandkids . . .

And daughter...

Biked close to 50 km and enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery...

Days spend like this are ....

"Priceless"

Walk down the road...

Hubby and I walk alot. I walk just about every morning...but this one day I turned right instead of my usual left turn...
What have I been missing....

Quiet Country

 Farm Animals...

 This one did not like his picture taken...

he started straight towards me...

All these years and I've never taken this walk..
...right in my backyard!
I think I'll be walking 'Right' more often!
