Changing Weather..

Well our 'warm' weather changed...and with the change comes snow... 

I do not like driving on highways in the winter... 

 This is why. 

We were held up for 1 hour...
Have you every had to 'wait' on the highway?

The other side of the fence

On the other side of our fence...

Stands what is left of a Saguaro...

There is no life left in it...but I love looking at it...

It is unique, has character...

Makes me think...

what will people say of me...when my life is gone....

The doors we went thru...

Life isn't always stacked up the way we want it to be...

We sold our house and are now on the move...

We knew we wanted to move...

Our place was big..

We enjoy travelling and usually aren't home for one third of the year.

But we didn't know what ...or where...

 We looked at old houses...

But the work that was involved...

 Played us right out...

 We looked at Condo's...

But they made us feel penned in...

We looked at new homes...

But the sub divisions where too crowded..

So we thought... 

That it was the year to enjoy what we enjoy the most...

But the finally door...

Is a move to a city...

New windows have opened...our life will change

A year of retirement ends for hubby.

some...you may not want to enter..

some may say 'welcome'...but don't look to inviting..

some times...you sense you shouldn't enter...

some may promise you delectable goods...

some are hard to get into..

there are even some you can see straight through...

until you look at it another way!

some are airy...

at times you may see double.

Some are very inviting..

The past 5 months of our lives....has seemed like our life has been a series of doors....

that were opening and closing the direction of our life.

For now....we have entered a new door of our life...

I will post more of this change ....

but one thing we know for sure....

'In his heart a man may plans his course,

Time for a Change?

Over the past couple of weeks I have been thinking that my Blog needs a change. . .

Goat heads we caught before they became a problem!

When I started my blog..it was because we were travelling and some of our family thought a blog would be a good way to see what we were up to...that was over a year ago...and I am feeling a bit out of sorts with my blogging...

Life has been busy and circumstances have not allowed me to have a lot of time to blog...or visit blogs.

I have enjoyed my blog and even more I have enjoyed getting know many of you!

Once life slows down I hope to be around a little more often...

but I am also thinking of a new direction / focus for my blog. 

So we'll see where my blog goes from here...

A closer look

Every day I drive down this lane..

one day I slowed down and took a closer look...

 I saw a fence post, falling, with moss growing on it....

At the corner the wooden fence...with a metal gate....

Eight years I've been driving by and never noticed....

What eles do we miss when we get so busy...
                                              we don't take time to look...
                                                                            or listen....

A bit of This and That

One of the many canals we bike and walk around almost every day....

One thing I do not like to do....

But endured for two and a half hours...I think I hit the air as many times as I hit the ball...

On this note...

We are about to head home to be with all our children and grandchildren for the holidays.... 

It's a bitter sweet time...

Bitter to leave this wonderful weather and lifestyle!

but sweet to be with those who mean the most to us...

This and That Musings

I was sitting with hubby...we were getting ready to go out. I was about to ask him if what I was wearing...looked okay...did it make me look fat...Before the words came out... I looked at what he was wearing. I realized that not once has he asked me if what he was wearing made him look fat...or if he looked okay. He knows what he likes to wear...he wears it...that is that!

Hmmm I wonder if there are men out there who has ever asked...if what they were wearing made them look fat?

So...how do these boots look with these pants...?

Back home...when we go shopping more places than not...we have to pay for our bags. I try to remember to bring my own bags...it really gets me when I have to pay for a plastic bag.

We have been south for two weeks...

I pulled these out from under the counter..

They filled a large plastic bag..

These are the plastic bags I have from shopping... I didn't have to pay anything for them!!
 If you counted the bags I have 'used' for garbage... I would have a lot more bags...

I was thinking it was time to throw some away...but remembered a pattern I have back home for plastic bags... I'll have to get the work on that!
