Candy Cane Lane...

We had a very cold Christmas Week, but...
Friday night was a beautiful evening a balmy -4 c and the moon was shining bright!

A perfect night for a 4 mile walk down to Candy Cane Lane..

A beautiful part of Edmonton that we enjoy....

Strolling through.... it's hard to believe we are close to the center of the city!

 There were lots of beautiful yards...

To delight the young..

 And the old...

It was a great way to end the season....
another New Year is upon us....
A time to reminisce of the year past...
and what we would like to see happen in the future....

Recipe, Pinterest..

Is it just me...or are there others out there that feel the computer is a stealer of time??
The last thing I needed was one more 'thing' on the computer to take my time.
But it happened....Pinterest.... and more and more I am enjoying looking and pinning.

I must say that I have found some interesting things and wonderful recipes!!

The other night I tried a new recipe I found on Pinterest....
'Roasted Veggies with Avocado Cream and Feta'....

The recipe calls for an Acorn Squash...I took the seeds...
tossed them with some Olive Oil, salt and pepper...
baked them when I was roasting the vegetables....
ummm ummm!! They made a great appetizer...

 The Avocado cream..is mixed with lime juice... I used lemon juice and it worked...

 You need some crumbled Feta....

 You roast veggies....and oops I forgot the tomatoes....

 Assemble the tacos....

 

 To be honest... I wondered how good they really would be...

But let me tell you they were better than delicious....

A week...

It's hard to believe I have been home a week..

 .It's been a busy week....

we had the tree to decorate...

 I  had presents to make... 

I thought I would make up some natural soaps and cleaners 

for those people who have everything....

I got a start on my Christmas baking..

We had some grandchild time..

Never to early to start learning to play chess?

I've forced myself to get out for a walk...

 (I don't want to mention it ...but it has not been a warm week... it's been in the -20C range... ) 

We walked the river valley...there were birds galore on this feeder and the birds would fly real close by you...but I didn't get any in my picture:)

We went to the Devonian Botanic Gardens...

where they had a Luminaria Walk...

with thousands of candles lighting the Japanese Garden

It was a crisp evening...but a nice experience for the Christmas season.

Well I guess I've packed a lot in the past week...
