Lundbreck Falls

We were back in Alberta visiting family for the past week....on the way home we stopped at Lundbreck Falls.

 They are a short drive off the highway...

 They are not that large....

But still amazing.... Glad we took the time to check them out! A great stop for a picnic!!

Model T Fords

Living so close to the USA border...
We often head south....for a day or so....

Last week we headed down to spend a couple days ... we love biking the trails here.

 It just so happened the Model T Ford Club of America was meeting  that day...

I was able to snatch a few pictures as they went by.... it was cool to see a parade of all these cars!!

What's that saying?....

'Don't let the grass grow under your feet'??

 What about..."Don't let the moss grow on your roof?"

 Hubby was waiting at a stop sign....out my window was this house...

Got a view of the front too as we turned!!

 Visiting a village in the valley....it wasn't the fence that really caught my eye...

 There is something about the building that attracted me...

The view from the other side...has another fence and cute little gate!

Garlic Festival

Garlic is something we would like to grow in our garden....so I thought this would be a great place to go!

People lined up an hour before it started....this was only one line up.... when we left 3 hours later...there was still a line up!! Around five thousand people attend!

 There was garlic...

and more garlic... around 170 vendors....not all selling garlic:)

I cam home with 6 varieties of garlic and some garlic syrup....
as well as a garlic grater...

homemade soap

 and a nifty bowl cover!!

Weekend plans....

ENDED..... when a neighbour brought us 30 plus pounds of plums...

  I froze some

Canned some

Dried some...plum leather...The leather is a yummy snack...

Half plums can be reconstituted...or used in baking and cookie when fresh plums are not available!!
(I still have a good half bag of fresh ones left!!)

Grapevine Harvest

We have picked all our grapes....the 'reds'...we ate them all...they were like a concord grape....delicious!!

The whites....we had 3 buckets like this....they were very sweet!!! We ate them...froze them and dried them!!

Road Trip

There is so much to explore in this area....We did a little road trip...north to the ferry....on the ferry we we had a 'front seat view'!

From their we continued north....

The scenery was beautiful!!

We passed Lakes...

Rivers...

Cute little towns...

We returned home over the pass....

So many areas to explore in this valley!
