Better late....than never.....

It's hard to believe that three months have past....
I have been ignoring my computer and my posting....
Here it is fall. We've had our first snowfall and I have neglected to post on our Square box garden.

Over all the garden went well.
Through out the summer months...we enjoyed having fresh veggies...

Some of the root vegetables did got get as big as I would of expected. I'm thinking the garden got too much heat...or not enough nutrients... Will add organic soil and compost next year with a sun screen for part of the day to see if this makes a difference.

At the end of summer this is what was left in our garden...

And the potatoes...here is what was left of them...we starting using them mid July.
Well that is it for our square box gardening project!
One thing for sure...it is simple to keep up...simple to harvest!!
And it was just the right amount for the two of us!!

  1. It looks like your gardening project was a real success. I love baby beets cooked with the greens attached. I must add then to my container garden next year.like you, we used this year as a learning process.

  2. That is one thing that Louis Dean misses the most! A garden! We have tried and we just don't get the sun in the right spots. Maybe we could do a container one......although that has not been successful either. Perhaps another try.....

  3. Fantastic haul of veggies! I'm glad you posted about this because I've been searching for a way to get back into gardening.
