Biking in Mesa

The one thing we noticed as we came into Mesa was that most of their main roads had bike lanes. This was great since we prefer to bike than take the van. Our first day in Mesa we decided to explore the area.
We hadn't biked far when we came across canals with bike trails.....so much for our Road Trip.... off we went on the trails.
We found out there are miles and miles and miles of these trails!! We rode for 5 hours. We did come across a mall and did some shopping!! But here are a few sites along the canal....
We came across a Faerie Frolic....this was new to us!

We bought wonderful scented soaps from these Faeries

There was all different sorts of dress...we had arrived when it was just opening and when we left saw many more dressed for the occasion walking down the streets.
There were homes along the canal ...what we enjoyed were their backyard friends!
How would you like one of these looking in your back door?
 Chickens playing with you children...
 Fresh Milk for breakfast!
Don't know where you would ride these guys since you'r in the middle of the city?
We also saw orchards along the paths... the trails were great. Many where paved... We were on the east canal heading south...We will try the roadways another day.

Casa Grande

Well our holiday is half over. Our travels are now taking us north...slowly - I hope as there is still lots of snow to melt before we get home.
Marilyn and John will be on their way home. It has been a wonderful time with them. I am so thankful we were able to share this time together!

We spent a couple days in Casa Grande about 1 hour north of Tucson. Casa Grande has a Historic Downtown. Whenever we can we love to visit these...so we jumped on our bikes and away we went.
No...there is nothing wrong with my bike..... Brian bought me a Handy Dandy......
Bike Basket...that I can snap off and take in the store to shop with.... I am so happy to have this new basket!!! So now we are ready to go!
Just because I love old buildings ...here are a few we saw downtown....
Downtown Main Street

We had to check out the local downtown restaurant...
They had VERY delicious food! Veggie wrap with Pasta Salad.. YUM!

This and That Nonsense

During our time with Marilyn and John we would have dessert together in the evenings. Each day one of us would bring the dessert...it became quite the competition...So we decided that YOU have to decide what dessert looks the best....

Dessert #1
Dessert #2
Cheers
This is the end of stories with Marilyn and John!

Full Moon

Whenever I am away...and look at the stars...I think of  my family 1000's of miles away.... yet we are looking at the same stars and moon. Good night...from  Arizona.
