Down a Dusty Road in the Buckskin Mountains...

You can reach what use to be an old mining camp...filled with vehicles of all kinds!
There are the oddest collection of buildings...

And stuff...
 Different Washrooms...
The ladies washroom is built right against the rocks..with all metal doors...
When washing your hands you have a wonderful view!
We meet some wonderful friends from back home !!
Had a great time visiting over lunch
(no waitresses here... you stand in a long line to place you order!!!)

It is truly a fun experience.... and what is the place???
There you have it... The Desert Bar...opened since 1983...and growing every year!!
Before we knew it ...it was time to hit the road and head on out....
It's a five mile drive off the Highway.......but a fun time!!

Sea Life...

We visited a beach...the rookery where the Elephant Seals hang out...
The beach was covered  with sleeping Elephant Seals!!
The birthing and breeding was over... the females had left the Rockery...
The males and babies were left... (Females spend 4 weeks with their young)
Soon the babies will be heading into the sea...
We were told these seals were in a deep sleep....
but this guy I think was starting to wake up!!

Beachy Time...

Hubby and I took a break from the hot dry sun of the desert....

We enjoyed the sounds of the ocean...
The fog and moisture...

Walks along the sand...

It was a nice change....

for a few days.....

Desert Wetlands

Hubby and I did our weekly bike ride to Old Town. We have explored the West Wetlands often, but never ventured into the East Wetlands. Today was a cloudy day, so it was the perfect temperature for a longer bike ride so we headed to the East Wetlands....not knowing what to expect....

First we biked along the Colorado River
I always expect the river to be wider and faster than it is!

We were surprised to find that the path was paved. The Wetlands were to the left and the canal on the right.
We biked for about a mile along the East Wetlands...
 It was a beautiful ride...
With lots of places to go back and explore...

A great new find for us....and one more path to bike!!
Its nice to have Wetlands, here in the desert!

National Puppy Day

Miss Pepper…..she changed our life… But life wouldn’t be as full without her! She is a kind sweet puppy that always ‘try’s😳’ to please.
