Desert Drive

A short drive away... we took a ride into the California desert...

We hiked around... and I even collected rocks!!

Not sure who lives in this hole? Groundhog or rabbit maybe?

We continued down the road...

At one time we had ground on either side of us...

We sat here and had a snack...

The only thing we saw were Boondockers up by the mountains:)

Quartzsite

Quartzsite is about 1 hour north of where we live when we are down south. We pass through every year...but have never stop. We made a trip there on the weekend to visit the market.

What we didn't know was that there are 4 market sites, with over 800 Vendors that are open every day during the months of January and February. It's a booming little town during those months.

After an hour and a half...we hadn't even finished one market place... We will save the rest for another year!:)

Iceberg Lettuce Field

Picking Machine was parked by the side...

They were on break...but then started working...

It's hard to see...but the heads of lettuce were popping out the machine!

Water Day...

The one thing missing this year...is the blue sky....clouds have been very prevalent this year!

Citrus Kombucha!

When we left Canada....I didn't want to leave my Kombucha behind.... so the scoby's went into their hotel...

Once we arrived we put them to work...The temperature needs to be between 70 - 80 F...some evenings get cool...so the lights are on the bottles!

 Hubby is the juicer when it's time for the second fermentation.... local lemons, grapefruit and oranges!

We have had great luck with the second fermentation!

 Citrus Kombucha....very refreshing!!
