Cousin

It's interesting as I unpack...the memories of some of the things I have....
I came across two glasses...

My cousin bought them for me because she knew I loved that pink glass....

A cupboard of 8 pink glasses...

 My cousin had found at Pier 1...and bought them for me as she knew I loved pink glass...

A pitcher ...a gift from My cousin....

 Good Memories of a great cousin...and things I have because a her!!

In Our Home

We are finally in our home!  You can not imagine what it was like sleeping in our bed ...after almost 6 months of sleeping on a trailer bed!!

We have only unpacked about 1/3 of our belongings... we still have work in the basement that is keeping us busy!!

I did try to make a small area of the house a bit festive!...We hope to have a tree soon....we are getting company for Christmas...so we have lots to do!1

Re purposed Light Fixture

I had a hard time getting pictures of the room the light fixture was in. It was Pink... I mean bright pink.  But here is the best picture I have of the original light.

 Here it is after I re purposed it... I'm not sure if I will put shades on it or not.

Across the border

Saturday morning we took a drive for breakfast across the border!! The border is only 8 km away...we knew it opened at 7:00 and it was 7:45. Since our town doesn't have a time change...there was an hour difference in our time!! We had to wait a few minutes for the Border crossing to open.
A short drive from the border is a little town we like to visit!

 We tried this restaurant that we had heard about...

 The portions where huge...and delicious!!

The drive is beautiful and relaxing a wonderful little get-away!!

Little Town Nugget

Moving to a little town changes many things. I've mentioned the lack of shopping.
Restaurants are few as well.

We have always enjoyed eating out..and always had MANY choices of eating places...but here, it's limited.

We had walked past this one, read the menu and thought of trying it. I had thought it was like a Deli..

We were surprised when we tried it!

It was fine dining!
The dishes are made with food that is local
I had their night special Beef Stew...hubby had his favourite...Salmon. They were delicious!!

All their desserts are homemade...we passed this time!
 We were happy to find this restaurant in town!!

December?

Hard to believe December is here!!!.... When we booked the trailer park in October...we thought we would be in our house by November....and here it is December!!

 But...there were projects we weren't planning on doing...that we did...

With the mess... it was hard to believe that this would actually my Home.....??

 If I wasn't painting walls..... I was down here painting trim...

And (oak) cupboard doors.... oops did I say that??

But here we are....still in a mess...but putting cupboard doors back on...

And starting to move all our' stuff' stored away in the garage into the house.... We wanted to be in December 4th.... I don't think we'll make it!!
