Kootenay Lake....

It was a dreary day...but we took a drive up the lake...we walked this part of the beach....

For those of you who don't know about our lake here is a little info...



 Kootenay Lake is a long, narrow and deep fjord-like lake located between the Selkirk and Purcell mountain ranges in the Kootenayregion of British Columbia.It is one of the largest lakes in British Columbia, at 104 km in length and 3–5 km in width.

Kootenay Lake is populated with many species of fish, such as Rainbow trout, Bull Trout, Burbot, Mountain Whitefish, White Sturgeon, Brook Trout, Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Pumpkinseed sunfish and Kokanee Salmon.


The scenic drive along the lake is 48 miles long....we have a number of beaches we can stop at.... Rocky ones...sandy ones...

    me too!! i want to love kayaking, but i have struggled with it!! it sounds like a great lake!!

    Sounds like a fisher’s dream with all the varieties of fish. It’s beautiful winter and summer.
