One day we were on our deck enjoying the warmth of the sun!
The next morning we woke up to this...
Three weeks ago we had lunch with long time friends.... 36 years of friendship!! The kind of friends that are always there!! I received a phone call from her....
We knew her husband hadn't be feeling well....but weren't prepared for the news....Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. They don't know how much longer he has.....
In an instant life changes...(you just have to watch the news to realize it can happen to anyone!)
It makes you look at your life different... you realize you only have right now...we don't know if we have any more time but the moment we are in...

You can't own it ...but you can use it
You can't keep it... but you can spend it.
Once you've lost it...you can never get it back.
Oh, so true, and how quickly the time goes by and you discover how much you missed.

ReplyDeleteHave you read the book, The Precious Present by Spencer Johnson? It's a quick read but has a similar theme as your post.
Wise words and we need to take them to heart! I'm going to memorize the poem about time and keep it running through my head!
