Random 5 Friday....

Friday again... where do our weeks go?:)

I am linking with Nancy at A Rural Journal

1. Over all the weather has been beautiful this week.
A few cool windy days...but I am enjoying the spring weather so much!!
2. Did some sewing this week... tried making a Tulle skirt for a little girl..
3. I have this old lamp...I found in a Antique Shop....
...its one of those purchases...you're glad you made!

 4. I tried a new Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe this week...
It is delicious...
It has oatmeal, chocolate chips and toffee bits it in...the bad thing is it is hard to stop eating them...

5. I found out this week...that the Rutherford Museum Tea House has shut down....
It is so sad...it was such a beautiful place to visit and have a delicious lunch!!
We will miss it

Quilting Follow up...

A few weeks ago I did a post on a quilt I was working on.
Well it was going fairly well. I had everything cut!

All my Irish Chain Squares were made...

All my squares made...all my plates put together...
Ready to put them on the squares.....

I ended up with Dresden Plates...that did not want to cooperate with how the instructions said!!!
I put out an SOS to a quilting blogger and got numerous responses on how to fix my problem...
The ideas worked...and I have my first completed Dresden Plate square ready....
It's not perfect...but I'm happy with it!!

Now I only have 11 more to do...

I don't think this quilt will go together as fast as I had thought it would!

I know it's early...

To early to be putting annuals outside.
I usually wait until the weekend after the long weekend,
before I even buy my annuals!!!
I have lost so many flowers over the years,
buying them to soon..... as you can be sure...
that we will get snow and a killer frost sometime in May....
But spring has taken so long in coming.....
I had to buy a few...
To brighten my outside little 'living area'!!

Miscellany Monday!

A new week begins!!
Spring has arrived...we had a beautiful warm weekend...
and it looks like we will have a sunny and fairly warn week !
I love warm weather!! I plan on spending a lot of time outside!
Friday ... I spent the day at the Calgary Zoo...
I hadn't been there for years....
the changes were wonderful!
I grew up in Calgary...and I have been going to the Zoo...for ...over... hmmm how old would of I been the first time I went to the zoo....while it has to be at least 55 years ago ...
 Another big change...
when the Calgary Tower was built back in the 60's...it was the tallest building in the City...
Times have changed!!!

2. I hung out day and night with a few grandchildren...
3. I have Seven grand children...and Six of them have been and are home schooled.
4. I love getting up early...but I also love staying up late
doing all those little things I didn't have time to do during the day.
5. Thursday was the first nice day that we have had since last fall.
It was a beautiful day to be outside...the boys went fishing...

Oldest had asked...at breakfast...if we catch a fish should we keep it.... I made the mistake of saying...if you can clean it...I can cook it.... Well we had fish for supper:)

Vintage Thingy Thursday....

We have a few things around our home that are a part of our heritage....

Hubby remembers picking the eggs and washing them with his mom ..
then they took them where they were inspected and sold
I never lived on the farm...but this milk can came from my grandparents farm.

It is one thing to be a collector of antiques...
but to inherit them makes them extra special!

National Puppy Day

Miss Pepper…..she changed our life… But life wouldn’t be as full without her! She is a kind sweet puppy that always ‘try’s😳’ to please.
