this was some one's home.
I'm sure it was a beautiful home..
The Chicken coupe out back still stands...
This Homestead is beside a busy Secondary Highway
just down from where we lived.
I have passed it many times in the past 30 years...
this time we noticed pieces of wood missing...
I'm sure it won't be long...until it's totally gone!
oh, i love the chicken coop. so cute!! (:
ReplyDeleteI love both...love the way the wood has weathered.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder about the families that lived in these abandoned places...nice photos...
ReplyDeleteDon't you wonder what happened or who lived there years ago?
ReplyDeletelove the old weathered boards.
ReplyDeleteAww - it's such a cute little place. I always think about the people who lived in it so many years ago.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder what stories these old buildings have to tell. Love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteSuch charming weathered wood in a beautiful setting!
ReplyDeleteSo sad that it is being neglected.
What a cute little home! They probably raised 10 kids in that place and everyone was happy and grateful! No t.v., no internet, no phone......just lots of love and happiness!
ReplyDeleteI love these old homesteads, it's a shame as you mentioned it wont be long before this one is gone, you sharing it with us is a blessing, Very Nice
ReplyDeleteI love those old farm structures that look like a brisk wind would knock them over. Someday I'll do a road trip where I do nothing but searchout interesting looking structures and photograph them while they're still there.
ReplyDeleteWhat cool structures. So sad that it may fall apart soon. At least you got some good photos to preserve it that way.
ReplyDeleteSad to see it just sit there like that- someone could really love that place.
ReplyDeleteLove old homesteads like this! So sad they're getting few and far between! Lovely shots. . .
ReplyDeleteThe top one looks like the cabin that my great-great grandparents lived in.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the family thrived and was happy in this humble home.
ReplyDeleteWe saw so many old homesteads and 'falling-down' cabins and barns on our cross-country trip - it's sad to see them left neglected like that. And then I wonder.....what's the story?
ReplyDeleteLove love love the dark, weathered, barn wood, esp in contrast to all that green! WoW =)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know its story.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! It's in excellent condition! I bet it was such a pretty little place.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what it looked like in the good ol' days!
