What is life? The older I get...the more I think about it.
We're born, we live, we die. A book in the Bible, Ecclesiastes is Solomon's reflection on life.
He was the wisest man that ever lived. Have you ever read the book?
It Begins...
Ecclesiastes 1:1-3
The words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem;
"Meaningless! Meaningless! says the Teacher. "utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless." What do people gain from all their labours at which they toil under the sun?
After analysing things such as wealth, power, pleasure, popularity and human wisdom the teacher finds they are all sheer vanity, meaningless and empty. Human insight cannot give us a clue about what life is about...only wisdom from above can fill one's life with lasting purpose.
The book ends.....
Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14
"Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter; Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. '
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. '
What are your thoughts on life?
oh my brain has not come alive yet for such heavy questions this early in the day... :) lets just say life is a challenge.
ReplyDeleteLet me see...
ReplyDeleteLife is short -- as long as you are not harming anyone in the process -- do what you enjoy!
That's all I got this early. :)
Be built on ROCK. Pray daily. Listen for His leadings. Try to love your neighbor (although I have never achieved this goal). Love God. Enjoy your life. Give thanks.
ReplyDeleteYes and this is funny - just looked it up for my post tomorrow I think it was.
ReplyDeleteLife is a gift, a wonderful and beautiful gift to be opened each day. When we hurry through our day, checking off the things from "our" agenda list, it is as if we have forgotten we have been given this gift and we leave it unopened...just sitting on our kitchen table as we hurry to and fro. Life is a gift that needs to be opened and appreciated each day. I'm so glad you stopped in at my blog!
ReplyDeletelife is what you make of it....each day is a blessing...
ReplyDeletelife is short and worth enjoying. it's a gift from the good Lord, living it for Him is awesome! :)
ReplyDelete"For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little while and then vanisheth away." James 4:14
ReplyDeleteLive each day to the best of our abilities and trust God to lead us every step of the way. Don't wait to be happy tomorrow. Enjoy every small pleasure of every single day....that first cup of coffee.....that inspiring blog post....that visit with a friend.....the walk with your dog.....petting a cat. GOD is blessing us in ALL of that!
have fun!!!
ReplyDeletelive each day as though it were your last!!!
It's all about LOVE! ♥
ReplyDeleteLife is choices and purpose. We choose to laugh, love, or do anything we want to do. We choose how we feel and nobody controls our emotional well being, we do. I choose to live my life with God at the helm, He steers me in the direction I am to go in and with me being human sometimes my listening skills become skewed. If we follow the Red Road as it's called, we find out purpose and purpose gives life meaning.
ReplyDeleteThat's my idea of life in a nutshell. Enjoy your day Flora, intriguing post I must say.
