Years ago we had a Krispy Kreme store in Calgary, the only one in Alberta. Every time we were in Calgary, we would take a trip to the store and look for that light on the front and we would get a free doughnut... Now I am not a doughnut person...but those hot donuts were wonderful... then one day...we went and the store was closed...so that was the end of Krispy Kreme in Canada, for us.
Lately in the good old U.S. of A...I have not found a store that sold them...hot and fresh until this trip... It was close to Seattle...and guess what...

We took a walk down the bike trail... |
|
Past beautiful wild flowers... |
|
And look what we found... |
|
Yes FRESH HOT DOUGHNUTS.... |
|
They were worth every calorie...but only one...until next time! |
Well tomorrow our trip begins...we are heading North...yes North to Alaska! See you there!
oh, they were all the rage about 10 yrs ago or so, but a lot of locations have closed up as folks once again tried to eat healthier. but i agree - hot and fresh, there's nothing like 'em!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a Krispy Kreme doughnut because they aren't in my area. I do love a warm cake doughnut, though. Yum!
ReplyDeleteWe have the Krispie Kreme down here too! A lot of calories but love them warm.
ReplyDeleteGood for you to find something you love that brings back such fond memories. I hope they were worth the wait! I don't eat doughnuts, hot or cold. Nothing deep fried for this body. Could never tell lately though! lol
ReplyDeletewe had one....right here in our town, a few years back. the lines wraped around the building, twice. no one could get enough. 6 months later it was a ghost town and 6 months after that, it was closed!!
ReplyDeletepretty little "purple" wildflower......

I haven't had a donut in years but everyone around here swears by Krispie Kreme...
