Christmas Cactus

I have two beautiful Christmas Cactus...
they are also called:
Holiday, Cactus, Thanksgiving Cactus, Easter Cactus.

Mine usually bloom around Christmas and Easter.
For some reason one is almost in full bloom.

The second one is full of buds waiting to open. . .

They say cooler weather and shorter days cause them to bloom.

I guess this year...I'll have to call them Thanksgiving Cactus...
as the first one bloomed during Canada's Thanksgiving...
the second one will be in bloom for America's Thanksgiving!

  3. Oh wow, look at them both. They're so beautiful. What do you do to get them to bloom? I've had one for over 10 years, it's not very big and it has only bloomed a few times but nothing like this.

  4. I was given one of those a few years ago - guess what I only had it a month and it died on me. I'm hopeless with plants. :( It is lovely though.

  5. Your cactus is very pretty, Flora. I had a nice one once but Hubby never liked it for some reason. I'm glad you are enjoying yours. Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a lovely weekend.

    Blessings,

  7. So pretty! I've never had sustained luck with my houseplants, except my baby rubber tree plants, they are thriving. If I can't kill them with my golden brown thumb, I think they'll end up giving shelter to the cockroaches after a nuclear war!

My Dad gave me a Christmas cactus and it survived for a few years, even bloomed. But it faded quick after I moved to Ohio. I guess it preferred Michigan.

    I'll enjoy yours here! :)

  8. Very nice! I don't know what it is with me but I can't grow cactus, I killed 6 mini ones my niece brought home for me... over watering maybe? Do you let these dry right out or water them regularly?

    Have a great weekend!
