On the Road again. . .

Heading South again....
Nevada Scenery
The odd roadblock
We like to take the back roads whenever possible. We love driving thru the towns, geocache, go for a bike ride. This trip we lucked out....we got to drive....
We both fancied a good coffee in a cute little coffee shop along this road....and this is what we found...
Deserted little towns...it looked like everyone had up and left...

Finally we found something that was opened.... Gas prices had gone up $2.99 a gallon in Montana...pretty good. After Montana the price was over $3.00 a gallon...not too bad considering prices were rising...but this beat them all!

Once we looked at the coffee pot we decided on...
We came upon a mountain of lava rock...
NO! This is NOT snow...it is a bed of borax
We were now heading towards the Joshua Tree National Park...hopefully we'll catch you up on that tomorrow!

  5. Joshua Tree is only about 70 miles from where we live, were some of those pictures taken on the highway running through Amboy, CA between I-40 and Twentynine Palms? just curious :)
